Old Key West Resort

ree

The Old Key West Resort, right in the middle of Walt Disney World, brings the chill vibes of the Florida Keys to life.

Location and Ambiance

Old Key West Resort is super close to Disney Springs, so shopping, dining, and entertainment are just around the corner. The resort is full of lush greenery, pastel buildings, and peaceful waterways, making it feel like a tropical escape. It's got a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for families and couples wanting to kick back after a day at the parks.

Room Layout and Features

The 2-bedroom villa is roomy, fitting up to eight people comfortably. Here’s what stood out:

  • Living Area: The open living space is welcoming, with a comfy sofa, a dining table, and a flat-screen TV. The nautical-themed decor adds to the resort's vibe.

  • Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, cookware, and utensils, so you can whip up meals and snacks whenever you like.

  • Bedrooms: Each of the two bedrooms has its own charm. The master suite has a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom has two queen beds, perfect for families or groups.

  • Balcony/Patio: Many villas have a private balcony or patio, offering a great spot to chill and soak in the resort's beautiful views.

Amenities and Services

Old Key West Resort has plenty of amenities to make your stay awesome:

  • Pool Area: The main pool is huge, with a waterslide and lots of lounge chairs. There’s also a quiet pool if you want a more peaceful setting.

  • Dining Options: Olivia's Cafe is the resort's casual dining spot, serving up tasty meals all day. There's also a quick-service spot for grab-and-go items, though it once took us 45 minutes to get 2 desserts to go.

  • Transportation: Free bus rides to the theme parks are available, making it easy to get around Walt Disney World. Plus, Old Key West offers a free boat ride to and from Disney Springs!

Downfalls:

  1. Bus transportation

  2. No elevators

  3. Hard to access other resorts without driving your own car

This resort helps make Disney feel less hectic. We would do early entry, Lightning Lane, and Genie Plus for our favorites and still have plenty of time left to enjoy the parks, but could still be home for dinner and a relaxing evening. The spacious and relaxed environment made us love staying here!
